A private group enjoys a custom-designed hiking
tour in the west of Ireland! |
|
 |
|
For over fourteen years we've specialized
in designing and organizing mountain hiking holidays, so we have the
expertise to create a customized itinerary for your group of friends,
family or business associates. Choose your destination, style of
accommodations and travel dates. We'll design a program that meets your
preferences for activity level from gentle strolls to more challenging
trail adventures. We'll handle the planning and logistics so you're free
to immerse yourself in the adventure!
A private group trip is a great way to celebrate life's milestones with
your family, friends, and colleagues whether it be an anniversary,
birthday, graduation, or your own special event. And if you're looking
for a physically-oriented team-building experience in a magnificent
outdoor setting, a hiking challenge on mountain trails might just be the
way to do it! A private trip is also an ideal way for hiking clubs and
other groups of outdoor enthusiasts to get together to share a common
passion! |
|
 |
|
Here are some examples of the types of
private hiking tours we've put together for our clients:
A Dolomites hiking tour combining hut
stays and comfortable alpine lodges for a group of eight women
celebrating 24 years of hiking together.
A Swiss Alps adventure for a large family group with three guides and
three hiking options and activities on each day.
A hiking tour in the Italian Alps for three generations of hikers
gathered to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. |
|

Family fun in the Italian Dolomites! |
|
An outdoor family adventure program using luxury
accommodations in the Dolomites.
A journey along the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago, Spain for an
Oregon hiking club.
A walking and hiking tour through the emerald mountains of western
Ireland for a group of eight friends.
Three "hiking and culture" combination trips for a multi-generational family
group to Italy/France, Norway and Greece.
Your
trip....?
The possibilities are endless! |

in a glorious mountain top picnic with your friends! |

We can arrange private group mountain hiking
trips to the following areas:
Italy: The Dolomites (northeastern
Italian Alps) with optional inclusion of visits to the Ice Man museum in
Bolzano or to other cities like Milan, Venice, Florence, or Rome.
Italy/France: The Maritime Alps which feature some of the wildest and
most untouched high-country landscapes in the Alps protected in France's
Mercantour National Park and Italy's Alpi Marittime Nature Reserve. Combine
with an optional stay on the Côte d’Azur (Nice) or in a village perché
("perched village").
France/Spain: Immerse yourself in the Pyrenees, the magnificent
mountains on the border between France and Spain including the Gavarnie Cirque and Ordesa Canyon,
both protected in national parks. Combine with an
optional stay in Paris, Bilbao, Barcelona, or Madrid.
Switzerland: Explore the classic mountain landscapes of the Berner
Oberland (Grindelwald and Kandersteg areas) dominated by the stunning peaks
of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. In the Valaisian Alps (Zermatt area), the
Matterhorn, icon of the Alps, oversees an area laced with mountain trails
and colossal vistas of ice-clad peaks!
Spain: Hike through the narrow canyons and amidst the soaring
limestone peaks of the Picos de Europa, the most majestic portion of
northern Spain's Cantabrian Range. Sample the pilgrimage path known as the
Camino de Santiago. Combine with visits to Bilbao, Barcelona, or Madrid. |

Hiking in Bulgaria's Vasilashki Cirque. |
Bulgaria: Tramp the unfrequented trails of Bulgaria's soaring Rila
and Pirin Mountains, both protected in national parks. Combine with a stay
in a traditional kashta ("inn") in a Rhodope Mountains village. Add
visits to the World Heritage Rila monastery, the Black Sea coast, and the
historic city of Veliko Turnovo. Excursions to the Aegean Sea coast and even
Turkey are also possible "add-ons." |

Challenging ridge-top hiking is a possibility
in Bulgaria's Pirin Mountains! |
Greece: Explore the north Pindos Mountains including the spectacular
Vikos gorge and the charming stone villages of the Zagori region. Hike the
trail to the summit of Mount Olympus. Balance your hiking tour of Greece
with visits to the spectacularly perched monasteries of Meteora, or perhaps
a journey to the Aegean islands of Santorini or Crete. |
Romania:
Encounter the storied Transylvanian Alps which encompass the Bucegi, Fagaras,
and Retezat ranges. A hike along the spine of the Fagaras range is a journey
is one of Europe's most memorable mountain rambles. Include visits to the

Sibiu and Sighisoara, the latter a World Heritage Site. |

A group enjoys a rest stop on the Fagaras Main Ridge Traverse, Transylvanian
Alps, Romania. |
The Carpathian Mountains (Hungary, Slovakia, Poland): Explore the
trails of Europe's second great mountain range. The Carpathians sweep for
900 miles through central Europe--from the rolling, forested Bukk mountainsin
Hungary to geologic crescendo in the craggy Tatras on the border between
Slovakia and Poland. |
|

A path along a levada on Madeira island. |
Madeira and the Azores (Portugal): Hike the mountain paths along the levadas
of Madeira which carry you into the island's rugged and stunningly beautiful
backcountry. Explore hydrangea-lined lanes old cobblestone paths that once
connected remote villages set in the luxuriant landscapes of the volcanic
Azores. Include an energetic hike to the summit of Pico volcano, the highest point
in Portugal! Sample wines from World Heritage vineyards and dine on some of
the freshest seafood in the world! |
Ireland:
Ramble through the glacially-sculpted mountains of Western Ireland which
include the Macgillicuddy's Reeks on the Beara Peninsula, the peaks of the
Twelve Bens of Connemara and the Dingle Peninsula highlands. Include a visit
to offshore islands like the Blasket and Aran Islands or the mystical and
isolated Skellig Michael. Combine with city stays in either Galway or
Dublin.
Norway:
Hike western Norway's "fjord country" for a unique take on this "mountain
and sea" landscape. The trails of the Hardangerfjord, Aurlandsfjord and
Naeroyfjord introduce you to the world's finest fjord landscapes. Combine
with a stay in the "Fjord Capital" of Bergen, or take in the museums and
parks of Oslo. |
|

|
Japan: Hike the trails on Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island whose
less-frequented mountain regions are protected in expansive national parks.
Ascend by trail to the summits of Hokkaido's beautiful volcanoes including
the island's highest. Or, opt for a hiking trip to the southern island of
Kyushu where you can explore the riches of the Kirishima-Yaku National Park
where trails provide an introduction to ancient cedar forests, moorlands, granite
mountaintops, steaming volcanoes, crater lakes, and highland meadows. Or,
consider a walking trip that includes visits to World Heritage temples and
gardens in Kyoto, the Kii mountains and along the historic Nakasendo Way.
New Zealand:
Hike on New Zealand's North and South Islands where you can explore the trails of the Tongariro, Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes
and Aoraki/Mount Cook national parks. Sample New Zealand's wines and combine
with city stays in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington.

the world! We can arrange programs for you in Argentina's Lake
District (Nahuel Huapi National Park and Bariloche), or in the Los Glaciares
National Park which includes the iconic spires of Monte Fitzroy and her
entourage of peaks. Across the border in Chile, the tremendous rock towers

mountain landscapes in the Americas.
Whatever your hiking preference, we're ready

your group! |
