UPDATE! 2027 trips can now be booked online; see the list below! We’ve seen strong demand in the last couple of years, so now is a great time to grab a spot on a 2027 trip. The 2027 lineup kicks off with the brand new New Hikes in Patagonia trip, scheduled in late February and early March 2027 as the southern hemisphere summer turns to fall. Here’s a new video we put together featuring the places you’ll visit on the new Patagonia trip. We are excited to be relaunching our hiking trip in the Japan Alps in July 2027. We’ve also scheduled our popular early summer New Hikes in the Dolomites trip focusing on the less-trodden areas of this spectacular range. Our classic Best Hikes in the Dolomites trip is on again in September 2027. We’re also bringing back our delightful Hiking the Spanish Pyrenees trip in September 2027 which highlights national parks and protected areas in the Pyrenees of Spain and Andorra. For 2026, there are still spaces available on our September Dolomites trip and our unusual and adventurous Great Wall of China hiking trip in October 2026.

More Destinations

Over the years, Mountain Hiking Holidays has developed and operated trips to a variety of destinations either as scheduled departures or custom-designed itineraries for groups. Not all the trips that we’ve developed are offered every year. Mountain Fun Fact

The Grossglockner is Austria’s highest peak and the highest peak in the Alps east of the Brenner Pass. Its name derives from the German gross (“big”) and glockner which may be a derivation of the word glocke (“bell”). The resulting, “Big Bell,” is descriptive of the mountain’s shape especially when viewed from the Kals Valley to the south. Experience this mountain on our Alps of Austria hiking trip.
